Different Logical System for Master Data Maintenance Using ALE

Scope of Functions

The ALE distribution methods for Cost Center Accounting determine the centralized maintenance of all master data, for example:

• Cost centers

• Cost elements

• Activity types

The centralized system for master data maintenance is the centralized system of the controlling area.
You can now get around this default setting by specifying a different logical system for master data maintenance.

If you do so, the following applies:

• All master data can only be maintained in the different logical system.

• The master data is sent from the different logical system to all the local systems and to the centralized system of the controlling area.

Effects on Customizing

To save the different logical system for master data maintenance, in Customizing, choose Cross-Application Components -> Distribution (ALE) -> Modelling and Implementing Business Processes -> Configuring predefined ALE-Business Processes -> Financials -> AC <-> AC -> Settings for Distribution of Cost Center Accounting Data
