New information fields in the asset master
record/depreciation areas
Description
The following new fields have been included in the depreciation area
specifications in the asset master record (detail screen):
Sometimes, the dates specified for operational
readiness and the actual start-up differ. The asset master record now includes
a new date field, which you can maintain in the master data transactions. If
this field is blank at the time of the capitalizing the acquisition posting,
the system automatically enters the asset capitalization date in this
field.
The asset master record thus includes the
following fields:
- Start-up date (capitalization date)
- Year and period of acquisition
In the case of some customers, this data was
different from the information already available in the general part of the
master record. When transferring an asset to an affiliated company, you also
need to manage the acquisition data both historically (for the purpose of
rendering consolidated accounts) and currently (for the purpose of local
reporting).
Change system parameters in customizing
Both fields have been assigned to their own field groups; this means that
you can control them using the screen layout rules. During the upgrade, the
system ensures that these fields are only displayed during master data
maintenance. If you want to release them for manual change, you must revise
the screen layout rules concerned.
Proceed
These fields are initialized either by a new depreciation calculation
(triggered when you make a posting, a change to the master data, when you run
the relevant service program), or by running the asset fiscal year change.
