Structural Changes in HR Information Systems

Use

Up to now, each component in Human Resources Management had its own information system in the SAP Easy Access Menu which included the following:

In the information systems for Personnel Administration and Compensation Management, Ad Hoc Query was configured so that it could be started immediately using a functional area suitable for the component. Whenever Ad Hoc Query was started for all other components, the query area, user group, and functional area had to be selected first.

Furthermore, the SAP Easy Access Menu included a cross-component Human Resources Information System which included the following:

For this release, HR Ad Hoc Query has been enhanced and integrated with SAP Query. This new tool is called InfoSet Query. Furthermore, the term functional area has changed to InfoSet .

As of this release, the term Ad Hoc Query is only used in HR if InfoSet Query is started from an HR information system in the SAP Easy Access Menu using an HR InfoSet.

Ad Hoc Query is included in the information systems of the following components:

When Ad Hoc Query is started for these components, default values are written to thequery area anduser group parameters. You can only perform ad hoc reporting. As a result, a user who starts Ad Hoc Query from the information system of one of the components listed above either accesses the initial screen for Ad Hoc Query immediately using the assigned InfoSet, or can choose between several assigned InfoSets. The InfoSets are suitable for component-specific reporting. They belong to the global query area.

If you want to access Ad Hoc Query without predefined parameters, use the cross-component Human Resources Information System.

In this release, SAP Query is only included in the cross-component Human Resources Information System.

Effects on System Administration

To ensure that a user can start InfoSet Query from the information systems of individual HR components using the supplied InfoSets, SAP Query must be used to assign him or her to the appropriate user group. The following user groups are used for the individual components:

/SAPQUERY/H0 for Compensation Management

/SAPQUERY/H1 for Benefits

/SAPQUERY/H2 for Personnel Administration

/SAPQUERY/H4 for Recruitment

/SAPQUERY/H5 for Training and Event Management
