In this example, a document is archived using SAP Business Workflow.
- A user scans in a paper document (for example, a sales order) at a workstation.
- At the same time, the user creates a document of the object type IMG (image) in SAPoffice. When a document of this object type is created, it is automatically linked to the R/3 System and to the current scan process at the user’s workstation.
- The user can now send this scanned-in document to another user with a mail message. The recipient of such a mail (for example, the person resonsible for document management) can display the archived document using the archive viewer and copy it to a document info record.
All archived objects (for example, incoming office documents or sales orders) can be copied to the document management system. These archived documents can be linked to as many SAP objects as required from the archive.
