Technical Background (CA-ARC)

Data Archiving removes from the database, data from completed business processes which is no longer required online in the System, but which must be accessible at a later date if required. The following graphic indicates the procedure: documents are written to archive files, which can be stored on optical media, e.g. via SAP ArchiveLink, via archiving objects, manually or automatically.

You can analyze or reload archive files using archive management.
