Up to Release 3.0, Asset Accounting (Asset Management) was a main entry under the entry "Accounting" in the R/3 basic menu. For Release 3.0, Asset Accounting (Fixed Assets) is incorporated one level lower under "Financial Accounting".
The application menu for Asset Accounting was also revised and now has the additional option, "Tools." Under this option, you will find new functions, as well as existing functions, that were previously found under "Periodic processing." The menu option "Display" was deleted. The value display is now found under the menu option "Asset."
The menu option "Master data" was changed to "Asset" and no longer contains "Asset classes" and "Old assets data." These entries are now found only in Asset Customizing.
The callup of individual reports under Infosystem was replaced with the entry Report selection.
Since the general R/3 Customizing menu was replaced by the Implementation Guide, the Asset Customizing menu is now found under the menu option "Tools" in the Asset Accounting application menu.
