You should only choose to post flows that have these two flow categories using the incoming payments function in exceptional cases when the accrual/deferral function and the valuation function are insufficient, for example, for disagio accruals/deferrals.

Note that accrual/deferral flows posted using the incoming payments or manual posting functions are not recognized as accruals/deferrals by the actual accrual/deferral function. When accruals/deferrals are calculated using this function, the accrual/deferral flows posted manually are not included.
This means that the standard Accrual/deferral and Valuation functions cannot be used in conjunction with manual accruals/deferrals or valuations entered using the manual posting/incoming payments functions!
We recommend that you only process accruals/deferrals and valuations using the Accrual/deferral and Valuation functions provided.
