Derived Flows 

Use

You can use the derivation procedure to automatically generate flows when entering financial transactions, based on the business partner. This allows you to ensure, for example, that when you enter the purchase of a security, tax flows are automatically generated from the incoming accrued interest flows.

The derivation procedure can be assigned to the business partner at the following hierarchy levels:

Activities

  1. Choose Master data ® Business partner and click the Standing instructions pushbutton, or choose Master Data ® Business partner ® Standing Instructions ® Derived flows.
  2. Enter the Business partner and the Company code. Choose the tab page Derived flows.
  3. You assign the derivation procedure at the Contract type, Product category, Product type, and Transaction type levels.
  4. The following options are available for assigning the derivation procedure:
    1. By double-clicking a level to which you want to assign a certain procedure, a dialog screen appears on which you choose the derivation procedure you require. You then assign this derivation procedure to the chosen level and all sublevels.

      You cannot deselect a subnode that is automatically selected.

    3. You make your selections using the pushbutton.
    4. Using the (Import from other business partner) pushbutton, you can copy the standing instructions of another business partner.
    5. Using the (Select all) pushbutton, you can assign a derivation procedure to all contract types.
    6. Using the (Deselect all) pushbutton, you can reset all the assignments you made.
  5. Save your entries.
