Graphics in the Project System: Changes in Release
3.0
Description
In Release 3.0, the following changes were made in the network graphic (in
both the standard network and network) and in the WBS hierarchy graphic for
time scheduling:
- The CUA Painter is now linked to the graphic. With this change, the
graphics menu is adapted to the basic data overview menu.
- The display options for WBS elements and activities were enhanced. There
is also an extended display: Color indicators show, for example, whether
milestones exist for an activity or a WBS element. All indicators have the
same color as a default, but you can change them in Customizing.
- A legend explains the objects used in the graphic. You can
display/suppress the legend by choosing show or hide in the
Options menu. The default is to hide the legend.
- All above-mentioned graphics have a header line which is proposed by the
system. You can change the text or supplement it with your own specifications
via the menu Options -> Header
line. The default is to hide the header line.
- You can locate WBS elements and activities by their name via the menu
Edit - > Find.
- All activities in a subnetwork or in another alternative standard network
are displayed in one frame for (standard) networks.
- Activities within one frame or the frame itself can be collapsed. Select
the frame and choose the menu option Edit -> Object ->
Frame.
- The Collapse to node function collapses the
entire frame to one node.
- The Collapse activities function displays the
activities in one frame.
- To simplify the editing of activities, you can set area restrictions. To
do this, select the activities and choose Edit -> Area
restrictions -> On.
The activity display is retained. Activities
that are connected to each other through relationships are displayed as
circles.
- In the network graphic, you can find loops in a (standard) network via the
menu Edit -> Functions -> Loop analysis.
- The way you call up network and hierarchy graphics in the Project
Information System was revised and adapted to fit the information system.
- In a separate profile, you can determine the parameters for calling up the
hierarchy graphic in time scheduling.
- When you transport graphic profiles to other clients, the system will ask
you whether all the dependent cost objects should also be included in the
correction.
The following changes were made in the hierarchy graphic in the work
breakdown structure:
- Collapsed nodes (hidden WBS elements) are displayed as "stacked
nodes".
- You can arrange the sequence of WBS elements any way you want within a
level, that is, arrange all elements with a superior WBS element in common:
Just click the right mouse button to move the WBS element.
Change system parameters in customizing
- If you want to schedule the WBS from the hierarchy graphic, you must first
maintain the parameters for calling the graphic in a graphics profile and then
enter the name of this profile in the project profile:
- If you want to change the indicator colors for the extended display of
activities and WBS elements, you must maintain the corresponding
parameters:
