Use
You can use this function to identify that the total budget assigned to a lower-level budget structure element has exceeded the overall budget, and you can balance this out.
Starting from the lowest-level budget structure element and working up, you assign budgets to the budget structure elements in your budget hierarchy. The system calculates and displays the budget required by each higher-level budget structure element.

You assign a budget to the lowest budget structure element in the budget hierarchy. The system flags the budget of the superordinate budget structure element as being exceeded, since no budget has been proposed there yet. You can balance out the overall budget again by assigning the corresponding amount of budget to the higher-level budget structure element.

The system summarizes the budgets already assigned at the various levels of the budget hierarchy. On the basis of whether the budget structure element has a monetary budget or FTE budget, the system displays the budget required by the budget structure element to which you want to assign a budget.
