The connection of Customizing to the Transport Group was considerably extended for Release 3.0. Customizing settings that are developed in a separate preparation system can be automatically recorded in change requests, which can then be transported into a production system.
Every change request includes one or more tasks that can be allocated to different employees.
All requests and tasks have an attribute Category. Two categories are distinguished:
Client-specific Customizing settings are entered in Customizing requests (change requests of the category CUST). Workbench change requests (category SYST) are used for recording settings for all clients.
The changeability of client-specific customizing settings and their recording in requests can be set in table T000 for each client. In this table, you can decide separately for each client whether changes to customizing settings are to be allowed and whether these changes are to be automatically recorded. There is a separate release note for this.
Not the client table but the global system changeability is taken as a basis for the changeability and recording of settings for all clients.
There is the Customizing order management for the management of the change requests (transaction SE10). As an initial screen, this transaction displays a hierarchical list of the usable requests of a user. Here, new requests and tasks can be created and released for transport.
