Customizing Delivery System
Description
As of Release 3.0, two clients are delivered whose contents are completely
identical.
This client is the SAP reference client. It is
constantly extended and must not be changed by the customer.
Client 001 has the same contents as client
000.
This client is intended for Customizing.
Both clients contain the following types of defaults:
- organization-specific data
A sample is contained for every organization
unit. The key is uniform 01, 001, 0001 and so on
- organization-independent data
Complete defaults are available here so that you
can work with most of these settings.
In the Implementation Guide, the settings with
which you must work are marked via an attribute.
Country version
As delivered, the SAP reference client (and consequently) client 001 is set
for country DE (Germany).
You can switch the system to your required country using a country program
when you start customizing.
Changes in procedure
To set up other clients or to change the delivery country, choose: "Tools
-> Customizing -> Basic functions -> Set up clients".
