Define Cost
Object Profiles
You create the cost object profiles for
general cost object here.
General cost objects are based on a
cost object ID.
When you create a general cost object, the
system uses the entries in the cost object profile to propose default
values.
The
cost object category determines how the planned costs are
calculated.
- You plan the costs for a general cost object
whose cost object category requires cumulative planning in
unit costing.
- You plan the costs for a general cost object
whose cost object category requires periodic planning using a planning layout.
You define the planning layout in the step "Planning".
If you are using cumulative planning, you can
specify a
costing variant in the cost object profile. This determines what
costing type and
valuation variant the system should use to determine the planned
costs. The Costing variant field is only displayed
in the cost object master record if you set the
Planning indicator for that.
In both cases you must specify default values
for overhead calculation and settlement.
Thecosting sheet
contains the parameters that control the calculation ofoverhead.
The
Costing sheet field is displayed in the cost object master
record only if you set the Overhead indicator for
that cost object category.
A costing sheet can
refer to an overhead key. This allows you to calculate an overhead percentage
rate that is only valid for specific cost object IDs.
The
Overhead key field is displayed in the cost object master record
only if you set the Overhead indicator for that cost
object category.
If you are using Activity-Based Costing, the
template is selected through the overhead key.
- Which receivers the costs incurred for the
cost object ID can be settled to
