New Features in Project Period-End Closing

Use

The features new for this release make period-end closing work more efficient.

Overview of New Features

New Features in Detail

Internal Parallelization

You can improve the runtimes for capacity-intensive processes by running certain functions in parallel. The relevant objects are then processed in parallel on one or more application servers, rather than one after the other on one server.

This has the following advantages:

As of this release, internal parallelization has also been connected to the following functions:

We recommend that you only split objects into a number of variants if you have more than 300,000 objects.

Closing Functions in Status Partially Released

The system carries out the following functions, even when the WBS elements in question are only in status Partially Released:

This makes it possible to carry out period-end closing for projects whose superior WBS elements you do not want to release yet.

Online Log Access in Schedule Manager

From this release, the log for the following mass processes is stored in the database:

You can evaluate the log online.

In mass processing runs, you can use jumps from the log (such as the list of balances in the interest calculation) or enhanced analysis options that are not displayed in the batch spool list.

You can access the stored log in the Schedule Manager monitor.

Storing User-Specific List Variants

From this release, you can stor user-specific list variants for the detailed log of the interest calculation. In this way, you can adapt the log to your personal information requirements. This enables you to configure the log printout to achieve the clearest possible results on your printer.

To enter a list variant other than the default, choose Extras -> Display Variants in the initial screen for the transaction.
