Transport Predefined Message Categories

In this step, you copy the message categories predefined by SAP to your plants as Customizing settings.

You need these message categories for:

• the link to PP, MM and QM

• the link to higher-level systems (linking of external requirements)

• status management in the case of orders and control recipes

The predefined message categories are copied together with all their assignments (assignments of characteristics, destinations and destination-specific target fields).
You can change the copied settings in your plant.
If you copy the process messages a second time, your changes will be overwritten. However, characteristic assignments that you have added to the standard will not be deleted.

Requirements

You first have to copy the characteristics for process management predefined by SAP to your client.

Activities

Copy the process message categories defined by SAP to your plants.
