Activation of Budgeting Rules

Use

You can use this function to activate event-driven budgeting rules (e.g. a person leaves your organization, a position becomes vacant) defined for budget structure elements with FTE budgets.

Unlike date-driven budgeting rules, which are activated automatically as soon as their validity period start date occurs, event-driven budgeting rules have to be activated manually. They are not activated automatically when the event in question occurs.

When you activate a budgeting rule, it comes into effect. In other words, depending on the budgeting rule used, specific FTEs might be locked for a specific period, or might be removed entirely.

Prerequisites

The overall budget must have the status Released, and you must have defined an event-driven budgeting rule.

Features

When a budgeting rule is activated, the available budget of the budget structure element in question is reduced as of the activation date.
