Partner Determination

Definition

During partner determination, a table of partners relating to an application object, in addition to the communication structures, is transferred to Message Control by an application. This table contains a list of partner functions and partner numbers. For further information on customer partners (application Sales and Distribution) see Partners in customer master record

Use

In this case, you must only enter the partner function in the condition record since the partner number for the corresponding partner function is taken from the table of partners transferred to the message status record during message determination. The recipient of the message is therefore known.

However, it is also possible to define a partner number in the condition record. This number overrides the values found in the table of partners.

A special feature is derived from partner function AP (contact partner): You can define one or more of such contact partners in the customer master record, which are given a unique number but not executed as separate master records. If such a contact partner is then transferred in message proposal as a communication partner (field PARNR), then the processing programs are terminated, which assume the existence of a master record for the communication partner: This applies, for example, for transmission medium 6 (EDI, program RSNASTED).
