Before Usage Decision: Stock Returned to Vendor

This is the same as in Example 4; however, the result of the inspection is "Complete quantity returned to vendor ".

SAP Recommendation:

  1. Post a goods receipt for the purchase order.
  2. In WM, the stock is posted to an interim storage bin using dynamic coordinates (purchase order number) with a corresponding stock placement transfer requirement. These goods have the stock category "Q" and an inspection lot number.

  3. Create a transfer order for the transfer requirement in WM
  4. The system displays a dialog box. Here you can decide what is to be done with the inspection sample quantity.

In the above example, select the option "Inspection sample quantity remains in GR area "; this way, a transfer requirement is open for the inspection sample quantity of 10 pieces. You can use this later for the stock placement of the inspection stock quantity. The system creates a stock placement transfer order for the quantity of 90 pieces.

The inspection lot number is copied into the quants;, the stock category in these quants remains "Q".

  5. Make the usage decision in QM
  6. Return 100 pieces to the vendor. When you execute the IM posting, the system creates an interim storage quant and cancels the stock placement transfer requirement (10 pieces) for the inspection sample quantity. The system also creates a stock removal transfer requirement for 90 pieces.

Make sure that the WM movement type for the return delivery to the vendor (movement type 102) is also posted to the dynamic coordinate for the purchase order number so that after the return delivery posting is made there is still a quant with minus 90 pieces available. If the interim storage quants do not balance (for example, in the case of a dynamic coordinate with the purchase order number), you must execute the balance by creating a transfer order manually.

  7. Stock placement in WM on the basis of the transfer requirement.

The quants that belong to this inspection lot number are removed from stock via the inspection lot number from the transfer requirement.
