Before Usage Decision: Sample Stored 

The stock placement in WM should take place before the usage decision in QM. The inspection sample quantity is not destroyed during the inspection and is placed into stock after the inspection.

SAP Recommendation:

  1. Post a goods receipt for the purchase order number.

    2. In WM, the stock is posted to an interim storage bin using dynamic coordinates (purchase order number) with a corresponding stock placement transfer requirement. These goods have the stock category "Q" and an inspection lot number.

  2. Create a transfer order for the transfer requirement in WM

    3. Here the system displays a dialog box. Now you can decide what is to be done with the sample quantity.

    In the above example, choose the option "Sample quantity remains in GR area". This way a transfer requirement for the inspection sample quantity of 10 pieces remains open. You can use this later for the stock placement of the inspection sample quantity.

    The inspection lot number is copied into the quants; the stock category in these quants remains "Q".

  3. Make usage decision in QM

    4. Release 100 pieces to available stock. When you execute the IM posting, the system creates interim storage quants and a posting change notice in WM.

  4. Create a transfer order for the posting change notice in WM.

    5. Here the stock category is changed from "Q" to "__" (blank) in the quants in the warehouse.

    Also, the stock category for the remaining inspection sample quantity in the GR interim storage area and in the respective stock placement transfer requirement is changed from "Q" to blank.

    If you activate automatic transfer order creation for movement type 321, this process is initiated in the background directly from the usage decision.

  5. Stock placement in WM on the basis of the transfer requirement (inspection lot number is copied into the quants).
