Drilling Down According to a Hierarchy 

You can drilldown according to hierarchies that are in the standard SAP System as well as according to customer hierarchies that were created as general hierarchies as hierarchies that serve in Customer Exits for processing external data hierarchies.

Select IMG LIS ® Develop function enhancements ® Function enhancements – Reporting ® Process standard analysis / external hierarchies.

If you want to execute a drilldown according to hierarchy, proceed as follows:

  1. Position the cursor on the characteristic value for which you want to execute a hierarchy drilldown.
  2. If you want to drilldown according to a hierarchy, select from the initial or drilldown list View ® Hierarchy drilldown.

A dialog box will appear. Select the hierarchy according to which you want to drill down and select the function Continue.

A drilldown list appears with the hierarchy nodes of the hierarchy you chose. If you drill down again according to the hierarchy (or double-click on the characteristic value), you can reach the subsequent hierarchy levels.
At the end of the hierarchy drilldown you can continue with the standard drilldown by double-clicking.

If you drill down according to the customer hierarchy (Sales Information System, Quality Management Information System), a dialog box appears in which you can enter the key for the hierarchy you require, as well as the date on which the hierarchy was valid.

You can only perform a drilldown according to one hierarchy per analysis path. A hierarchy drilldown can only be carried out if you have not already performed a drilldown according to the characteristic on which the hierarchy is based. For example, if you have already executed a characteristic drilldown according to material, you cannot then drill down on the existing hierarchies for material (material class, product group).

Displaying a Hierarchy

View ® Display h ierarchy allows you to gain an overview of the structure of all hierarchies in the displayed list.
