Scope of Functions
The transceiver is needed for communication at the standard interfaces CC1 and CC2. Since these interfaces have been replaced by new, BAPI-based interfaces, the transceiver is not needed anymore.
As of the next but one main release of 4.6, the transceiver will not be shipped or maintained anymore. This does not constitute a restriction, since new interfaces (HR-PDC-4.5, PP-PDC-4.6) supporting the functions of the old interfaces have been made available as of Release 4.5 or 4.6.
Since the transceiver component maintenance will be discontinued soon, it will neither be transferred to LINUX nor supported in UNICODE. Customers using LINUX or UNICODE can switch over to the new interface versions.
