In equity accounting, the values are directly entered in the 'Historical data table by means of the data entry function. The Historical data table contains three values for each entry:
The book value of investments in the associated company is updated with these values. For this to occur, you need to enter the following items in the Display equity detail screen.
Both the offsetting item and the transaction type are stored under the key EQ1.
While a balance sheet item is required for the offsetting entry of the stockholders’ equity changes that do not affect net income, a transaction type must be specified for updating the investment book value. They are stored under the key EQ3.
If you intend to keep a statistic of negative investment book values, two additional selected items must be defined on the detail screen. The item for posting the negative investment book value is
stored under the key EQN, while the offsetting item is entered under the key EQG.If applicable, select the corresponding indicator to allow a negative investment book value.
