Shipping: Quantity Correlation

Description

When you change a delivery group, the basic correlation function indicates that a group will be split up or that the changed item belongs to a group. In Release 3.0, the function has been enhanced to include a quantity-based correlation.

During delivery processing, a quantity correlation is now carried out for related groups of items. The groups must be classified as belonging together by the following features:

If the structure in the order resulted from a BOM explosion, the quantity-based relationship of the items is based on the component quantity, otherwise, it is based on the relationship of the order quantities. Items for which the quantity is marked as fixed are not correlated.

A quantity correlation is carried out automatically when you create a delivery. When you change the quantity of a higher-level item, the quantities of the dependent items are correlated, if necessary, on more than one level. A warning message occurs when you change the quantity of a dependent item. The deletion of a higher-level item deletes the complete subtree; a warning message occurs when you delete dependent item.

If a dependent item for which the quantity is to be correlated is the main item of a batch split, a message is issued. You must decide for which batches the change in quantity is to be carried out.

Further notes

Further information on correlation can be found in the release note "Delivery Groups in Delivery Processing" for Release 2.2.
