Budget Structure Consistency Check

Use

Using this function, you can check the consistency of budget objects in a budget structure when you create it by creating individual objects.

The system checks that each budget object has a budget object superior to it.

Either the directly superior center and the same commitment item must be defined as the budget object or the directly superior commitment item from the same funds center. The superior budget object may not be more than "1 center level and 0 item levels" or "0 center levels and 1 item level" away.

Activities

Choose Budget structure ® Check to check the budget structure consistency.

In the event of an error, the following happens:

The system generates a message directing you to an error log. You can display or print the error log by choosing Extras ® Error log. The error log contains details of the budget objects for which no superior budget object has been defined.

Correct the defective budget objects or choose Edit ® Enhance. This function automatically creates the necessary superior budget objects for those objects that lack them. The system generates a message, telling you how many superior budget objects were created.

If you really do want to have "gaps" in the budget object hierarchy, you can ignore the error message and do not have to enhance the missing budget objects. Budget can nevertheless be allocated correctly.
