SAP Retail Store 

Purpose

This scenario describes a distributed retailing system for a store that links retail functions via the Web browser of the Internet Transaction Server (ITS) with the transactions of the central SAP Retail system.

Functions

Logistics Basic Data

Transferring information on promotions to stores and, if necessary, reporting changed quantities to head office.

Merchandise Distribution

Transferring information on allocations to stores and, if necessary, reporting changed quantities to head office.

POS Interface

Entering store orders and transferring them to the head office

Sales

Entering sales orders and transferring them to the head office

Inventory Management

Transferring goods receipt, stock transfer and physical inventory data to stores and receiving data entered instore

Prerequisites

A link must exist with the central R/3 system while data is being accessed.

Process Flow

Information

The R/3 system transfers all the information relevant for a particular store to the store. This includes, for example, information about listing, promotions, vendors, forthcoming goods receipts, and stocks.

Purchasing

The R/3 system transfers the store order requests to the distribution center or the vendor.

Sales

Sales order articles available in the store or that have to be procured especially for the customer are ordered for and sold to the customer.

Goods Movement

Expected changes in stock levels are reported to the store and changes to the stock level of the store are reported to the head office.

Results

Merchandise and information flows are communicated.
