New User Interface
Both the
browser-based PI sheet and the
process manufacturing cockpit offer a user-friendly, completely
revised user interface in HTML layout. The following sections describe changes
to user interface elements and theirfunctions:
Each phase can be
opened individually and collapsed again after it has been processed. In this
way, scrolling in extremely long PI sheets can be avoided.
- Calling up the Context
Menu
You can display the
context menu as follows:
- Position the mouse pointer on a field or
outside all fields, depending on the context menu you want to display and
choose the right mouse button
You can start
functions that can be used for the entire PI sheet as follows:
- By way of the menu bar in the PI sheet
header
- By way of the context menu if you position the
mouse pointer outside of input fields, output fields, and
pushbuttons
Functions that only
refer to individual process steps are only displayed in the context menu of a
process step if they are relevant to it. For example, the Display
message function is only available for the process step for
which a process message has been defined.
- A red asterisk to the right of input fields
indicates that an entry is required.
- If a certain value range has been defined for
an input field, the "yellow lightning" icon is used to indicate input values
that deviate from the value range. If you click this icon, a dialog box with
data on the deviation appears.
- If a comment has been entered for a process
step, a particular icon in the relevant field is used to indicate
this.
- Input Fields and Output
Fields
If signatures have
been executed for an input field, each signatory name is displayed in a
separate field above the input field. You can expand these fields to display
the date and time when the signatures were executed and, if available,
comments entered for the signature.
If signatures have
been executed in a table, an icon is displayed next to the table. If you click
the icon, a dialog box with the names of the signatories, dates, times, and,
if available, comments appears.
- Deviating
entries
They marked by a red frame around the input field. At the same time, the
system issues an error message.
- Default values
Default values that you have defined for input fields are displayed in the
corresponding fields immediately after you have opened the PI sheet. At first,
they are displayed in blue. To use the default value, position the cursor in
the input field and choose Continue
.
New Functions in the Context
Menu
The following new functions are available in
the browser-based PI sheet:
- Complete (process
instruction)
All process messages
of the process instruction are reported.
All process messages
of the table line are reported.
- Activate and deactivate (table
line)
You can deactivate
individual table lines in a PI sheet. Deactivated table lines are not taken
into account when the PI sheet is checked. They are no longer ready for input
unless you activate them again.
You can create
comments for each process step. If you choose Close and
send in the Edit Comments dialog box,
the system creates a comment message of type PI_COMM.
Using the Keyboard
You can use the tab
key to navigate between fields. The focus is set to input fields and the
"yellow triangle" icon. This icon indicates that you can display certain
additional contents. It appears at the following positions in the PI
sheet:
- In the PI sheet header, to display detail
information
- Next to the phase number, to expand and
collapse the phase
- Next to a note, to display the
note
- Next to the signature display, to display
detail information about the signature executed
You can call up
input help as follows:
- You position the mouse pointer on the input
help icon to the right of the input field.
- You position the cursor on the input field and
choose Ctrl + H.
