Creating a Manifest for Express Delivery Companies 

Use

A manifest is a shipment IDoc that is sent to an express delivery company. It contains all deliveries that are transported in the express delivery company's truck, which is typically loaded once every evening with all parcels.

The express delivery company uses this list of data for simple invoice creation and also for double-checking against the list of parcels that were actually scanned. Manual entry of parcels is thus no longer necessary.

Prerequisites

You will find the required settings for setting up a link to an express delivery company in your system in the Implementation Guide under Logistics Execution ® Shipping ® Deliveries ® Set Link to Express Delivery Company.

You must first set up a partner profile for the express delivery company in question so that you can send this list to the express delivery company via IDoc. If this list is intended for printing, you must also set up a print profile.

Procedure

In order to create a manifest, you must first create a selection variant for delivery selection that finds all deliveries for a certain express delivery company with a certain loading point and the current date.

Start from the Create shipments in collective proc. screen.

  1. Enter a variant name. Choose Maintn to maintain a variant.
  2. Enter the loading point in the Point of departure section of the selection screen.
  3. Enter the Number of the forwarding agent for which the deliveries are to be selected in the Transportation planning section.
  4. Choose Enter.

You can now either print the list of selected deliveries or send it to the express delivery company via IDoc.
