Browser-Based
PI Sheet
Use
As of this release, you can also create
browser-based PI sheets beside the conventional ABAP list-based PI sheet. They
represent an enhancement of the old PI sheet. Almost all functions of the ABAP
list-based PI sheet are also available in the browser-based PI
sheet.
In addition, the new PI sheet has the following
advantages:
- The HTML-based user interface offers an
attractive layout that is intuitive and easy-to-operate.
- A standard layout has been defined. You can
use it as a template to create your own layouts.
- You can easily modify the standard layout so
that you can display additional frames with different contents, such as
another PI sheet, a process manufacturing cockpit, or Internet
page.
- You can maintain several PI sheets or a PI
sheet and cockpit at the same time.
- You can use global variables to exchange
information between PI sheets or between PI sheets and cockpits.
- You can replace the standard layout with your
own layout. You can, for example, define different layouts for different
application areas.
- You can still use existing master recipes even
if you want to create a browser-based PI sheet. You only need to send your
control recipes to a control recipe destination of type
4 .
- You can use the new universal process
instruction category of type 0 that offers new functions.
To be able to best use the browser-based PI
sheet, you must be aware of some changes compared with the ABAP list-based PI
sheet. The following release notes provide information about:
