Define Message
Control
In this step, you create the link between error
management and
message control.
The condition records for error management link
a system message or a group of system messages with conditions for sending
messages (such as, the medium, the role of the recipient).
You use a key combination to define whether the
conditions are valid for the following:
- A department (such as construction or
MRP)
- A laboratory or construction
office
The conditions records determine the
following:
This key determines
the role of the recipient.
The name of the
recipient
This key determines
the type of message processing (such as, printout, fax, mail).
This key determines
the time of message processing (such as immediately when a document is saved,
or at the next selection run).
Using Communication,
you can define further parameters for output control.
Requirements
- You have to create a mail user for each person
to whom you want to send a mail.
- You must first process the step
Standard
settings
The standard system has condition type
MSG. You can link this condition type to every message you entered in
the step "Assign messages".
The SAP standard system contains the following
access sequences:
You can use this key
combination to link the condition type with an organizational unit within a
department (such as purchasing group 001).
You can use this key
combination to link the condition type to a department (such as
purchasing).
- Work area and message number
You can use this key
combination to link the condition type to a specific message.
Actions
1. Enter the
condition type "MSG" and choose "Key
combination".
2. Select the
key combination to which you want to assign the messages.
3. Enter the
appropriate data for the criterion.
- Role - MP for mail
partner
- Partner - appropriate mail user or
distribution list
- Medium - 7 for internal
mail
- Time of sending - 4 for
sending immediately after you save the cost estimate with its error
log
4. Choose
"communication" and specify, for example, whether the message
