PM: Order Costs Overview on Basis of Value Categories

Description

As of Release 3.0, you can call up the costs of an order not only in the CO-specific display format (cost element report CO) but also in a PM-specific form as value categories. Value categories can be groups of elements or groups of revenue elements.

With the Customizing function, the system administration converts the CO cost elements into value categories. The number of value categories can be variably controlled via Customizing.

The value categories created this way are stored order-related by the system in a new transparent database table (PMCO) (both planned and actual values). The table is updated during order processing or during the entry of actual postings.

In a second Customizing step, the system administration allocates the value categories to the PMIS cost key figures.

The following key figures are supported in PMIS:

While the value categories can be defined without restrictions by the system administration with the Customizing function, the key figures for costs are permanently set and are based on the usual groupings in maintenance cost analysis.

If you call up the cost display for a maintenance order, you now see the PM-specific version. However, you can also request the previous CO cost element report via the Extras menu.

Set the value categories and make allocate them to the cost key figures in PMIS.

Further notes

If you regroup value categories after planned or actual values were already entered, a new layout of the PMCO table is necessary.

Also when using 3.0, the PMCO must first be recreated after you have created your value categories.

The value category specification must be made in reconciliation with the Project System (PS). The same allocations are used there.
