FI-LC: Converting Selected Data for Totals Reports
Up to and including Release 2.2, selected data for totals reports in FI-LC
(RGCAUS00, RGCIAR00) was stored in the database table INDX. The table T863Y
was available for maintenance.
For technical reasons, as of Release 3.0, the data is stored in table MCDX and maintained in table T863X. For the user, there are no changes in the usage of the data selection and totals report.
For datasets already selected, there are the following alternatives:
Any required data can be selected again because the original data is available in the totals table.
- The conversion program 'UMSINDX' determines all selections made in the control table T863Y and converts them.
- If not all selections are to be transferred, the entries in T863Y can be reduced using the transaction 'SE16'. Please discuss with the user department which selections are not needed. This way, a number of selections can be excluded from the conversion, that - for example - belong to subgroups, that were created only for testing purposes.
- Conversion is initiated by starting 'UMSINDX', without further parameters
being prompted.
In this case, the following steps are carried out automatically:
- All selections in the control table T863Y are included
- Data is selected from table INDX
- Conversion and update into the new table MCDX
- Selections are written into new control table T863X
- A success/error message is output for each selection to be converted
The data of the INDX remains unchanged after the conversion so that the conversion can be repeated.
Afterwards, the conversion should be checked by running a totals report, whose values are known. If an error message appears that points out that a certain selection is missing, please check if it exists in the control table T863Y(old) and T863X(new) using the display transaction 'SE16'. If the selection is missing in both control tables, then the conversion was alright and a data selection for the required parameterization is needed.

The program 'RGCMCDXK' is available to the system expert for analyzing the MCDX table. This can be run in the following modes:
- Catalog (list) of MCDX blocks of the 5 types of storage
- Contents of a MCDX block
