Creating Documents while Processing a Master Record

You can now create documents while processing a master record of an object. You can do this as follows:

You can link an existing original application file without processing a document info record. You select the original application file from the file manager. When the user has a profile that supports storing the original application file in a secure area (storage category) the original is transported automatically to the secure storage area. The document info record is created for this original in the background (internal number assignment).
You can create a document info record using the transaction Create document . After you have created the the document info record you can continue processing the material master.

In Customizing of Document Management there are different settings for the document type (Determine object link) according to the scenario used to create the documents.

Displaying the Document Version while Processing a Master Record

Display of the document version can be defined as follows:

The list of document versions is in the sequnece of hwo the document versions are linked to the object
You restrict the display of the linked versions to the current version. The document version is displyed that has the highest version number

In Customizing Document Management you decide by using settings for the document type (Determine object link) which document versions you want to display.
