Purpose
A dialog oriented information system is available to you with the G/L account information system, it being based on SAP-EIS technology (drilldown reporting). It is able to evaluate the dataset based on all characteristics contained in the data description. Both G/L account transaction figures as well as balance sheet and P&L structures serve as the primary data source for the general ledger information system.
Implementation considerations
In
Sample Reports, you can find examples on customizing drilldown reports.Features
Financial statement figure reports and analyses are available as report types.
Financial statement analyses are based on B/S P&L hierarchical versions structures that are stored in Financial Accounting. The system gives you the option to perform difference analyses based on actual and plan data at any time (yearly, half-yearly, quarterly, and monthly comparisons).
The financial statement items from the financial statement version are inserted in the key figure reports as needed. You can, for example, keep track of balance sheet balances or net working capital (such as current assets minus current liabilities) as individual key figures. Profits, such as net income for the year, and cash flows are also useful key figures. Other key figures (ratios) that are calculated by the G/L information system are equity ratio (owner’s equity/total capital), debt-equity ratio (total liabilities/owner’s equity), and capitalization ratio (fixed assets to total assets).
Constraints
In this documentation, we describe the FI specific aspects of drilldown reporting. You can find general information on drilldown reporting functions and its procedures in the R/3 Library under Basic Concepts of Drilldown Reporting.
