Data Provider and Data Origin: An Example
Three R/3 Product Safety systems are employed in a chemical company. The systems are used by different departments:

The names of the R/3 Product Safety systems are used for the data origin, and the names of the departments are used for the data providers.
When data is transferred either from or to R/3 Product Safety (import or export), data origin and data provider are taken into account. In this way, you avoid an undesired overlap of data areas.
