FI-LC: Hierarchy of Totals Reports, Management of Selection Data

Description

A new user interface was created for comfortable starting of totals reports and for well-structured management of selection data. You will find this new function in the Consolidation task level menu under step -> Info system -> Totals report -> Hierarchy.

Two modes are available:

"Standard report" mode

----------------------

This is the default mode. The standard reports available are displayed in a hierarchical structure. Below every report, the possible start parameters of the totals report (subgroup, version, year/period) are found. These are also hierarchically structured.

For better orientation, the nodes of the hierarchy graphic are laid out in different colors: Standard reports, e.g. are blue, subgroups are cyan, etc. The pushbutton 'Color key' provides information on this. For more details on the individual nodes use 'Node information'.

In the display, you can start the totals report or select data. With complex standard reports - such as balance sheets with previous year comparisons - it can happen from time to time that not all of the necessary selections will have been made yet. With the help of the function 'Edit -> Complete/incomplete selection', the start parameters of the totals report - for which there are no selections yet - can be displayed. These are dark red. When pressing the function 'Node information', the selections to be made are then also proposed, among other things, and can be started directly.

"Selection data" mode

---------------------

You reach this mode via 'Goto -> Selection data' or by pressing the pushbutton 'Selection data'. All preselected data is hierarchically displayed in a structure using the sequence: subgroup, version, and year/period interval. In the display, you can select data or you can delete the preselected datasets can also be deleted.

Change system parameters in customizing

The information concerning the hierarchical structure in the standard reports is encrypted in the names of the reports. Choose the step Define standard reports in chapter -> Information system -> Totals reports in the Implementation Guide.
