Creating an Event 

  1. From the flexible planning or standard SOP menu, choose Tools ® Event ® Create.
  2. The initial screen for creating events appears.

  3. Either enter an event number in the field of that name or leave the field blank, depending on whether you want to assign the number internally or externally.
  4. An externally assigned number can be numeric or alphanumeric. If it is numeric, the system checks that it falls within the allowed number range.

  5. To continue, choose ENTER .
  6. The General Information box appears.

  7. Enter a description, define the event type and event status, and specify the length of an event period.
  8. Choose Continue .
  9. The first event definition screen appears.

  10. Enter values for the event in the desired periods.
  11. If the event is cumulative, you enter positive or negative numbers in the Value changed column. These numbers give the values by which the key figure changes.

    If the event is proportional, you enter percentages in the Change column. These express, as percentages, the new key figure values. When you choose ENTER , the percentages by which the key figure values change are displayed in the Changed by column.

  12. Choose Goto ® Assignment.
  13. A dialog box appears.

  14. Enter the name of the information structure to which you want to assign the event.
  15. Choose Continue .
  16. The second event definition screen appears.

  17. Specify the characteristic value(s) which will be affected by the event.
  18. Select the key figure which will be affected by the event.
  19. You can scroll in this list by clicking on it with the cursor and using the arrow keys on your keyboard.

  20. Select the version(s) of the information structure to which you want the event to apply.
  21. You can only select planning versions that have already been created in the system.

  22. For each version that you select, enter next to it an assignment date. Entry of a description is optional.
  23. If you want to create another assignment, choose Event ® Flag assignment and then choose Goto ® Other info structure.
  24. Enter the same or a different information structure.
  25. Repeat steps 9 to 14 until you have assigned the event to as many information structures as you need.
  26. To save the event master record, choose Event ® Save.
