Creating an Evaluation Run

Prerequisites

The initial run has taken place in the system.

Object lists exist.

Procedure

The evaluation run creates the language-dependent worklists for the translators. To start an evaluation run, proceed as follows:

  1. Call up transaction SLWB.
  2. Choose the tab strip Evaluation and press the button Create in the application toolbar.
  3. In the dialog box now displayed, make the following entries:

Object list for evaluation:

Select an existing object list using the F4 key. This object list will be used as the basis for the evaluation.

Worklist number:

The standard worklist number is 1. If you do not wish to create a standard worklist, you can assign a different number, for example, if you have two different translation projects in the same system.

Description text:

Enter a description for the evaluation run for reference purposes.

Test run (do not change worklists):

If you choose this option, the objects will be evaluated, but the database will not be updated. This is a test function.

Write the worklists:

If you choose this option, only inserts and updates will be made to the worklists, based on the object list used for the evaluation. However, no objects will be deleted from the worklists.

Write worklists and delete beforehand:

If you choose this option, the worklist will be deleted and rebuilt. All objects, except those contained in the object list, will be deleted; those objects that are not contained in the object list will then no longer be included. The worklists will be completely deleted and rebuilt based on the object list used for the evaluation.

If you decide to remove objects from the worklist translation process, for example by:

locking the object group from translation

entering an object in a lock table

this change will only become effective in the worklist itself if you choose the option Write worklists and delete beforehand when you run the evaluation.

Automatic distribution:

If you flag this option, automatic distribution is run during the evaluation, based on the object types you have marked for automatic distribution in transaction SLWA and the parameter specified in transaction STMA.

Write where-used list data:

If you run this option, the where-used list in the proposal pool is updated during the evaluation run.

  1. Press Continue. You can now schedule the job as normal.

Result

Once the job has completed successfully, worklists are available. The objects and status of these objects are based on the settings you made for the evaluation.
