You can use the object service within an SAP system to send objects (for example, functional locations or orders) to individual SAP users or to distribution lists using SAP-Office.
For example, when processing an order, you can send the order with a mail using the function "Send object". The mail appears (with a note, if required) in the recipient's inbox. By calling up this mail, the recipient can display the object (in this case, the order) directly and process it, if required.
From Release 4.0, it has been possible to send functional locations, pieces of equipment and notifications using the object service.
From Release 4.6A, you can send task lists, maintenance plans and work centers using the object service.
Irrespective of whether you send an object, you can link it to a PC file (for example, to a graphic or a Word document). For example, you can link a piece of equipment to a Word document and then display the document from the equipment at any time.
