FI-LC: Uploading ASCII Data

Description

In Consolidation, you can import data, that has been entered locally via PC entry by using an Upload into the Consolidation database.

This interface can also be used to upload data of other origin into Consolidation.

In the past, the data in ASCII format could not contain separators.

Now, the ASCII format can use tab characters as separators. If this option is used, the parameter "Other format (ASCII with TAB)" must be marked when starting the upload program.

The upload program then awaits the following file name:
POS_XXXX.TXT where XXXX = company ID.

The data must correspond to the record layout described in the documentation (record description for import from PC entry) and must be formatted as follows:

• Numeric FS item numbers must have leading zeros.

• Version and period must have three digits with leading zeros.

• The amounts must be 15 digits in length without decimal places (character format, leading zeros). Quantities must have a length of 13.

• The first data record must contain additional control information from PC entry, i.e., you must insert a first data record when uploading self-created files. This can have any kind of structure. For instance, it can only contain the company ID.
