FI-LC: Enhancements to the FS Item Texts
Description
Te following changes and enhancements have been made for financial statement item texts:
1. Change of the text type
characteristic:
- 'L' long text --> '3' long text
- 'S' short text --> '2' medium text
- '1' short text
The related tables are automatically converted during the release upgrade.
1. FS item texts enhanced with a
15-character short text:
The existing 45-character short text is now called medium text. In its place, a considerably shorter 15-character short text has been introduced.
- Maintenance
In client 000, the FS items are delivered
including all three text types in the SAP Orgware. The conversion changes the
text type for the medium texts from 'S' to '2' in the other clients, and
furthermore, creates the new short texts by transferring the first 15
characters of the medium texts. These short texts can then be post-edited in
two places:
- In FS Item Maintenance, the short and medium text is displayed for
maintenance in the system language. Choose the step
Maintain FS Items in chapter --> Master Data --> Financial
Statement Items in the Implementation Guide.
- In Item Text Maintenance of the Implementation Guide there is a new step
called 'short texts', where you can enter the short texts in all languages.

- Applying the 3 text types for FS items:
- A number of reports, e.g. the currency translation, use the new short
texts as of this release. The logs in which item texts are displayed should
become better structured this way.
- When defining data entry forms and total reports, the user can choose which of the 3 text types are to be used.
