Change AutoCAD Parts List (BOM)

Two files influence the output of a BOM for the drawing:

AutoCAD uses a DSK file to define internal structures for evaluation, to organize the attributes of the item numbers in the BOM block, and to make certain operations possible (e.g. sorting the BOM).

Print template files (*.WSK) determine how the data records are formatted and evaluated for output to a Windows printer. The mask editor can be used to create and change WSK files and DSK files.

You can use the *.MSK files to prepare and format ASCII files for further processing (e.g. for a database system). Unlike AutoCAD versions prior to version 14, these files are not suitable for outputting to a DOS printer!

AutoCAD allows you to change the files to meet your own individual requirements.

Always make a backup copy of any BOM file before you process it!
