Creating a BOM for a Drawing

Use

You activate this option if you want to insert the BOM in the drawing.

Procedure

The AutoCAD BOM block list contains the following defaults:

These blocks determine the layout and contents of the BOM that is output.

If you wish, you can also specify the name of a user-defined BOM block. This will also appear in the list if you store the block in the appropriate subdirectory.

The blocks GEN*POS and GEN*SUM are blocks that are made up of several lines. The lines are only inserted in the drawing if they contain attribute values from the info point or item number. Otherwise, empty lines are suppressed to save space in the drawing. If you want to insert empty lines anyway, you will have to deactivate the "Suppress empty line sections" option.

Two line blocks (one bottom-up, one top-down) are available for outputting an itemized BOM, and two for outputting a summarized BOM. The BOM block GENBPOS (bottom) starts at the bottom and works up; the block GENTPOS (top) starts at the top and works down.
