BOM Block (Template File)

Use

This overlay list displays all of the BOM blocks for output to the drawing and printer that are stored in the directories ../GEN//MSK/POS or SUM. If you want to output the BOM to a printer, the "Mask file" display is replaced by "BOM block".

You can stored your own drawing templates (*.WSK) in the directory ..\GEN\DWG\MSK (default), and your own print templates in the directory ..\GEN\MSK.

You can also specify a different path in the entry AutoCAD GEN Setup -> GEN Configuration: "System… -> gen@path ->DwgMask" (or MaskFiles for print templates).

If, for example, the path defined for MaskFiles is Y:\MINE, then the software will search for print templates in the file called Y:\MINE\MSK.

You cannot convert paths, but you can define corresponding alternative paths in the AutoCAD configuration settings (e.g. "AltDwgMask").

If you want to output the BOM to the drawing, the data for the summarized BOM is stored in the file called GEN_SUM.DSK, and data for the itemized BOM is stored in the file called GEN_POS.DSK. These files are located in the subdirectories ../SUM and ../POS respectively. The data is then entered in the block GENBSUM or GENBPOS, and output to the drawing.
if you want to output the BOM to a printer, the file called GEN_SUM.WSK is used for the summarized BOM, and the file called GEN_POS.WSK for the itemized BOM. These files are located in the subdirectories ../SUM and ../POS respectively.

You can specify default templates and BOM blocks either directly in this dialog box, or in the GEN Configuration settings (->Bill of material). In the former case, you select the template or BOM block from the list, and then press the "Save defaults" pushbutton.
