New Features for Sample Calculation and Dynamic Modification

As of Release 4.6A, you can use the following new functions for sample calculation and dynamic modification:

Dynamic modification at the level of the inspection type for inspections with task lists

In general, you can choose between the following dynamic modification levels:

Previously, you could only dynamically modify the inspection scope at the level of the inspection type for inspections without a task list (from Release 4.0A through Release 4.5B). As of Relase 4.6A, you can also use this dynamic modification level for inspections with task lists. In this case, you specify the dynamic modification level in the task list header and the dynamic modification rule in the data for the inspection type in the material master.

If you dynamically modify the inspection scope at the level of the inspection type, it offers the following advantages:

Freely-defined inspection points for inspection lots with inspection plans (for example, goods receipt inspection lots)

As of Release 4.6A, you can specify an inspection with freely-defined inspection points for all inspection lots, regardless of the task list type being used. For example, this allows you to define the pallets or wire baskets received in a goods receipt inspection as inspection points and to perform a sampling inspection for each inspection point.

Previously, you could only use freely-defined inspection points in inspections during production that were performed with routings, master recipes, or rate routings.

No restriction on sampling type for freely-defined inspection points

In the past, when you used freely-defined inspection points, you could only draw a fixed sample for each inspection point. This meant that you could only assign sampling procedures for freely-defined inspection points in a task list that specified the sampling type "fixed sample." As of Release 4.6A, this restriction for freely-defined inspection points has been eliminated. With freely-defined inspection points, you can now have the system calculate the sample size using all sampling types (whereby the system still uses the lot quantity as the initial value for making the calculation).
