Shipment Comparisons

Use

The system can carry out two different shipment cost calculations and compare them, automatically selecting the most favorable result.

Prerequisites

To perform shipment comparisons, you must make the following settings in Customizing:

You make these settings in Customizing as follows: Logistics Execution ® Transportation ® Shipment Costs ® Pricing ® Pricing Control ® Condition Exclusion ® Condition Exclusion for Groups of Conditions

Features

You can, for example, create condition types with the calculation basis Delivery items and condition types with the calculation basis Handling units in the same pricing procedure. You then define condition exclusion groups (A and B) and assign the two condition types with additional discounts to the two different exclusion groups. You then assign the exclusion groups to the pricing procedure and specify the exclusion procedure "least favorable of the exclusion groups".

If you now carry out shipment costing with the pricing procedure described above, the system determines the shipment cost for exclusion group A and exclusion group B. In the first variant, costing is carried out for every delivery item. The shipment price is 1,358 USD. The second variant calculates the handling units. There are 6 pallets. The shipment price is 1250 USD. The system selects the least favorable variant according to the exclusion procedure and performs a calculation per delivery item. All conditions for exclusion group B are inactive.
