Usability of Standard R/3 Functions in SAP Retail 

In an SAP Retail system, you have the general option of using functions from other areas. Some functions, however, can only be used with materials while others can only be used with articles.

The following figure illustrates the possible combinations. Information on the individual cases is contained in the corresponding sections.

Note that divisions have no operational significance in SAP Retail (see Organizational Structure: Division). Divisions are not used in the functions developed especially for SAP Retail. Where a division is required for other functions, however, one is available that cannot be changed. Divisions can also be maintained in SAP Retail and can be used if they are required for other functions.

If a function can only be used in an SAP Retail system, this is specified in the relevant function documentation.
