FI-LC: Interactive Excel for Accessing Consolidation Data

Description

Using "Interactive Excel", you can directly access consolidation data in the R/3 System using common spreadsheet analysis software and generate reports, the values of which are automatically updated when called up.

To be able to use Interactive Excel, MS Excel is started with the add-in file delivered by SAP.

In addition to the MS Excel standard menu bar, two further menu options "R/3 logon" and "Consolidation" are thrn available. In the step --> R/3 logon --> Logon, the user first logs on to an R/3 System from MS Excel. Then, the functions mentioned above are available in the step "Consolidation".

Software/hardware requirements

The function can only be used on a PC that has access to the R/3 System and where Microsoft Excel 5.0 has been installed.

Installation information

The functions of Interactive Excel are implemented as a Microsoft Excel "add-in". The necessary program files are delivered on CD.

Further notes

The active data link between MS Excel and the R/3 database uses the RFC interface (Remote Function Call). RFC enables the desktop application to communicate directly with the function modules of the R/3 application.
