Interface for External Scheduling
Use
From Release 4.6C, the CS-SDL interface enables
you to process scheduling and field service planning in your company using an
external system. You can use this interface to copy data for scheduling and
field service planning from front-end systems into the SAP System.
The following scenarios are
supported:
- Scheduling of capacity
If you use the external scheduling system for scheduling capacity, you have
the SAP System as the front-end.
- Field service planning
If you want to use field service planning in the form of the planning board,
you need to have the external scheduling system as an additional
front-end.
When an order is scheduled in the SAP System,
the external system searches for a suitable date and sends this to the SAP
System. The SAP capacity planning is deactivated. In contrast to capacity
planning in the SAP System, the additional functions are dependent on the
external scheduling system.
Effects on
Customizing
The following settings must be made in
Customizing:
- Define the order types, for which you want to
activate external scheduling. To do this, choose Plant Maintenance
and Customer Service -> Maintenance and Service Processing ->
Maintenance and Service Orders -> Scheduling -> External Scheduling
-> Define for Each Order Type.
- Make the settings for external scheduling of
the order. To do this, choose Plant Maintenance and Customer
Service -> Maintenance and Service Processing -> Maintenance and Service
Orders -> Scheduling -> External Scheduling -> Configure
Communication .
- Set up the external scheduling parameters. To
do this, choose Plant Maintenance and Customer Service ->
Maintenance and Service Processing -> Maintenance and Service Orders ->
Scheduling -> External Scheduling -> Set External Scheduling
Parameters .
