The system manager checks whether the database is becoming too large. For an Oracle or Informix database, you must first examine the Tablespaces or DBSpaces, respectively, and then the tables. You only need to check the tables for ADABAS/D or Microsoft SQLServer.

When the system finds a table that must be archived, you must determine the archiving objects that contain data objects from this table. These archiving objects are removed from the database by archiving.
