Capacity Planning Example in the Planning Table

Given data:

The production quantity per day on the selected line 1 is 500 pieces.

Your order to be produced is for 750 pieces. This means you will need 1.5 days in production.

Your planning table is based on daily buckets and you use backward scheduling.

Procedure

Enter the 750 pieces on line 1 in the planning table in the appropriate period, for example on the 07.30.

The system determines the end of the last shift on the 07.30. and schedules backwards to determine the start date.

Result

The system sets the load on the 07.30. to 100% and the load of the start date 07.29. to 50%. The available capacity, capacity load and requirements for both days are displayed with 100% and 50% respectively if no other production quantities exist on these days. However, the total production quantity of 750 pieces remains on the 07.30. if you have selected the Orders quantity display. The production quantity is split over the two buckets if you have selected the Distributed or the Orders/Distr. quantity display.

If several orders already exist, the system automatically increases the capacity load and the capacity requirements if you increase the production quantities by creating a new order, for example. Capacity overloads are then highlighted.
